At SK our vision is to design kite products that eclipse everything else on the market. Our target is to provide every single rider with a kite bar that is utterly suited to their needs and personal riding style.
With that ambitious goal in mind we collated feedback from our world class athletes and customers over the past few years to create a new bar model to complete our range alongside the ever popular and multiple regatta winning SK UniqueBar and SK PrimeBar.
After designing and modelling several different concepts over the past three years we finally created the SK BeyondBar. With this three bar model lineup, we have no doubt that everyone will be able to buy their perfect SK bar.
The bar itself is state of the art in its design and material qualities, with the design focused specifically on a user friendly and intuitive bar feel. The titanium centre piece through which the centre line runs is incredibly durable and resistant to shock loading, abrasion, sea water and sand.
In terms of form, we focused on making the most elegant bar out there, with touches like its precise CNC machined finish and engraved detailing, we believe we have well and truly achieved this brief. However we never sacrifice function over form, so alongside these qualities, the bar is also very lightweight.
The tubes, hand crafted in Germany, are made from pre-preg carbon, which is incredibly strong and allows for a carbon lay up that prevents material stress. We designed the tubes with a reduced diameter to maximise kite control and bar feedback.
The final magic touch are our fibre reinforced engineered plastic end caps. These should appeal to those design conscious individuals, who appreciate the little details; the shape was inspired by jet planes and they echo their aerodynamic design. Once again however, we refuse to compromise on function, and the end caps feature soft balls on the tips to avoid injury or equipment damage. Within this setup we have hidden the elastic line to secure wound up lines, perfectly marrying function with form.
We can guarantee that we have not held back with the design of the SK BeyondBar and we can’t wait to see it in the hands of our customers on the water all over the world.
